The LAP club celebrates twelve years of continuous enthusiasm.
I started swimming ten years ago on the advice of a friend because of a slipped disk.
It took some time to build up my swimming muscles, but I now have a good waistline, and muscles appeared where there were never any before, particularly on my back. I do various exercises after swimming, but the most valuable is to develop lower back muscles by doing "backups". Now I have very little trouble with the disk pressing on my sciatic nerve, and though it perhaps may never be cured, I can live quite happily having not had an operation !
